Perform Under Stress & Prevent Burnout

Train Like An Athlete, is a program for leaders which has been running for a few years in APAC. It equips teams with tools to build physical, mental and emotional stress resilience. The tool kit that we use, called the “R-box” (Resilience Box), consists of four pillars to stay sharp under stress:

1) Run - Short & high energy routines to build physical and mental energy.

2) Refresh - Science & art of eating and drinking to energise body & mind.

3) Restore - Tools for high quality sleep to stay sharp.

4) Rebalance - Techniques to stay in control and make the best decisions under stress.

The tool kit was constructed from the perspective that employees and leaders see themselves as Corporate Athletes, and must train themselves like athletes do in order to to sustain high levels of performance and, in the process, achieve high personal growth.

During the time of COVID-19, an exploratory study was conducted with women leaders in Southeast Asia who were part of the Train Like An Athlete program. This study concluded that the R Box Tool kit,  practiced by the participants over 12 weeks, positively influenced their wellness in multiple dimensions. In a nutshell, the survey conducted 30 days after the program showed high levels of adoption; with the majority of respondents implementing lasting changes in their lifestyle. Furthermore, they saw demonstrated improvements in their ability to deal with stress.
