Yoga - I know I must, but I can’t!

“I am too stiff for Yoga” 

“I have been doing yoga for a while but I wish I were more regular with my practice” 

Most people are intimidated by the yoga they see on social media and feel the practice is beyond their reach. And, of the many million people around the world who are keen to pursue yoga, less than 5% have a daily practice.

Yoga, though, is for all! The practice is designed such that it is accessible to all of us - young and old, stiff and flexible, strong and weak. Wherever we are, yoga can meet us right there!  

And, it is one of the most complete practices we can all do to bring our body, breath, and mind into balance before we start or wrap up our day.

 
 

Consistency doesn’t come easy though. And, like anything else, practising with a teacher and a community makes a big difference - it pushes us to regularly show up on the mat. 

So, if are a yoga practitioner, ask yourself:

  • “Am I regular in my practice” - No, once a week is not regular :-) 

  • “Is my practice complete?” - Does it include body, breath, and mind work?  

My conversations and practices with many of you over the years has helped me conceptualise Being Yoga in a way that addresses these three crucial aspects - 

  • a place where yoga is accessible (and a bit challenging) to all;  

  • where the design is complete and includes  body, breath, and mind;  

  • and, daily classes get you to be consistent

Accessible:

The sessions will be accessible to all. We will give you all various options so that, irrespective of which part of the journey you are at, you may access it. Yet will keep your interest alive by maintaining a little challenge, so you may grow with the practice! 

Complete:

The sessions will be complete- a holistic practice of asana (movement), pranayama (breathwork) and dhyana (meditation). Importantly, you will get to understand how the practice connects with your body and mind.  

Consistent:

We meet daily Monday to Friday. The 40 mins sessions with the group on the mat, keep you motivated and disciplined both 🙂

So, whether you are person who wants to get started with yoga or someone who wants to get consistent with the practice, Being Yoga is for you.

 
 

I will be hosting this with Surbhi - a core member of our community and someone’s who has been teaching yoga for many years and understands our philosophy well! 

We begin on 10 July (Monday) with a 2 week introductory series that is open to all. And then, we will open the registrations for our first batch! 

Oh, yes, and for all those who are “stiff” - isn’t that why you need yoga? To open up your body, breath, and mind?
