I had always wanted to learn yoga but here in the US, I wasn’t sure how authentic the teachers were and my visits to India were too short and busy to include yoga classes. Sessions with Subba and Surbhi not only addressed the flexibility and balance aspects but also strengthened the core and other parts of the body. Subba’s breathing techniques helped go deeper in the yoga poses and in the restorative sessions. For a newbie like me I didn’t think I would be able to do it, but Surbhi takes you step by step in the asana sessions through this process patiently and at the same time making it a little bit more challenging each time. Her instructions are so clear and she takes the time to make sure everyone gets it right. I feel like she is in the room right next to me helping and encouraging! Both of them encouraged and pushed us to find our ‘edge’, at the same time they were both very positive and helpful when we had to do some very challenging sessions. With the other participants I felt like I belonged to this community or family that was not judgemental and that was so supportive of each other.

I am a person who is not fond of getting up early and doing exercises but now I look forward to each yoga session - I feel a shift in my body, energy levels are higher, mind is calmer and I feel so much more in control .
