9. What is the Special Balinese New year package about?
Bali has a 210 day calendar which begins on the day of Nyepi. The day before Nyepi is observed through a Ogoh Ogoh procession taken out in every village. This is followed by the day of Nyepi, which is observed as a day of silent reflection throughout the island with all vehicles off the road and everyone staying at home. The day after Nyepi is observed as a day of immerssion in the ocean to cleanse before undertaking a new journey.
Our Special Balinese New year package (March 21-23) will include all the above experiences, with Subba guiding the Silent retreat at BeingSattvaa on the day of Nyepi.
