FAQs

1.   When should I pay for the retreat?

We request that you make your deposit payment at the earliest, as only then will be able to confirm your seat. We will be in touch with you regarding the balance payment.

2.    How can I find a partner to stay with?

We request that you look for a friend or family member to partner with. We can also keep a look out but can’t assure you of the same. In case we are unable to find you one, you will need to switch to single occupancy.

3.   What are the travel logistics?

It would be ideal that you arrive at the retreat by around 2pm on 17th March so you don’t miss our first session. This would mean that you land in Bali by around 12noon and one of our butlers will be at the airport to receive you and get you to BeingSattvaa.

4.   When should you book your travel?

Right away – so, you may get the best fares.

5.   Can you stay longer or arrive earlier?

You are most welcome to come in earlier or stay on after the retreat. If you would like to have a deeper experience of Bali – nature, culture, arts, and crafts, we can arrange tours for you  (note: BeingSattvaa is close to Bali’s art, craft, and cultural centre).

6.   Can you bring your family?

Of course, they are most welcome at BeingSattvaa. However, if they are not participating in the retreat kindly let us know in advance.

8.   What are the travel requirements to Bali?

Visa on Arrival is open to 75 countries and ASEAN passport holders are Visa exempt. As of now, More details are here  https://www.indonesia.travel/gb/en/news/latest-travel-regulations-to-enter-bali

9. What is so special about Balinese New year?

Bali has a 210 day calendar which begins on the day of Nyepi.

The day before Nyepi is observed through a Ogo Ogo procession taken out in every village. These processions of handmade demons speak to removal of negativity from within.

This is followed by the day of Nyepi, which is observed as a day of silent reflection throughout the island with all vehicular and human traffic off the road. Yes, the whole island goes silent.

The day after Nyepi is observed as a day of purification. And, the day after that is one of new beginnings.

Our retreat will include all the above experiences, with Subba guiding the Silent retreat at BeingSattvaa on the day of Nyepi, the fire ceremony to remove negativity, and also the intention setting for new beginnings.
